Catch returns

Gathering the numbers of fish caught by rod and line on our waters is extremely  important to us as a club, it allows us to create a broad picture of how the Teifi has fished through the year. We rely on members and ticket holders submitting their catch returns to enable us to establish an informed opinion on the health of our fishery month by month and year to year. Please take a few minutes to fill in your catch return form and to let us know how you got on.

 We won’t laugh!

Regardless of whether you have caught nothing or have just come down for a day and caught just one fish it’s important that you  let us know.

Equally if you have caught and returned fish we would particularly like to hear from you, we need to show the Environment Agency that we do exercise restraint in our fishing.

On the Teifi our salmon fishing season is governed by the amount of fish that we catch combined with the numbers of fish logged by the fish counter -  we have a discretionary arrangement with the EA which enables us to have a two week extension to the season if the rod catch and counter numbers indicate that the magic conservation limit has been reached. Catch returns form an essential part of the information that influences their decision making process.

As an incentive to all those of you who, like myself, abhor form filling, the club is offering an incentive to post that form.

All completed return forms received by Andrew Thomas, Penrhiw, Cynwel Elfed, Carmarthenshire, SA37 6SP before October 31st will qualify for entry in a prize draw for the princely sum of £25.00.

Nil returns also qualify, thus disproving the adage that suggests that you can't get something for nothing. ......
